Breast Augmentation in Beverly Hills

Learn More about This Procedure

Breast augmentation can be life changing for women who have spent years feeling bothered or embarrassed about their breasts. Placing saline or silicone implants is a safe and effective way to add shape and fullness to small, flat or asymmetrical breasts. Breast augmentation patients typically feel sexier, more feminine and more confident after surgery.

The success of breast augmentation surgery hinges on the experience and skill of the surgeon. Women seeking breast augmentation in Beverly Hills trust the expertise of Dr. Betty Kim, a board-certified plastic surgeon who has spent years placing breast implants. She is highly sought-after for her rapid recovery approach and beautiful, natural-looking results. The satisfaction of her patients is her ultimate priority.

Why Do Women Choose Dr. Kim for Breast Augmentation?

Dr. Kim is respected by her patients and peers alike. The plastic surgeon received a world-class education, graduating at the top of her class, and completed in-depth training in plastic and reconstructive surgery before establishing her private practice. She has published her work in plastic surgery journals and textbooks and presented at regional and national plastic surgery conferences. In addition to Dr. Kim’s private practice, she is also a faculty member at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC).

Patients appreciate Dr. Kim’s empathetic and personalized approach to care. She takes the time to understand her patients’ unique motivations and treatment goals, and tailors her approach to their specific needs.

Breast Augmentation Surgery with Dr. Kim

Every patient’s breast augmentation experience begins with a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Kim. During this appointment, she performs a visual examination of the patient’s breasts and asks questions to get a clear grasp of the patient’s expectations and goals. Dr. Kim addresses whether these goals are achievable, and if so, how she will tailor treatment to deliver the desired outcomes.

All elements of the planned operation are discussed, including the following:

  • Implant size
  • Implant shape
  • Implant type
  • Incision location
  • Placement location

Dr. Kim’s recommendations are based on the patient’s natural anatomy and their desired cosmetic outcomes.

On the day of breast augmentation surgery, anesthesia is used for complete patient comfort. A professional team monitors the patient at all times before, during and after surgery to ensure her safety. Dr. Kim first creates the surgical incisions in the pre-determined area (i.e., around the areola, under the breast crease). She inserts the saline or silicone implants either above the chest muscle, which is known as the subglandular approach, or partially under the muscle, which is known as the subpectoral dual plane approach. Each approach has its own set of pros and cons, which Dr. Kim discusses pre-operatively with the patient.

Dr. Kim uses an instrument called the Keller funnel to insert silicone implants into the breast pocket without ever touching the implant for a more sterile procedure (and less risk of contamination and infection). The funnel also allows her to place the implant through a smaller incision, which creates a smaller scar.

After the implants are carefully positioned, Dr. Kim closes the incisions and bandages the breasts.

Shortly after the operation, the patient is released to recover at home. Dr. Kim uses special “rapid recovery” breast augmentation techniques to minimize post-operative side effects, like bleeding, and accelerate the recovery process. Most patients can resume work and normal activities more quickly than they would with traditional breast surgery techniques.

Results improve and stabilize over the next few weeks. Dr. Kim monitors the patient to ensure a safe and successful recovery.
